5th Grade Update

Dear 5th Grade Parents and Students,
We have a busy few months ahead of us. I am bracing myself.

Here is some information/reminders regarding a few of the upcoming events:

This week: Tuesday, March 3rd, the Science Fair Proposal sheets are due. The Science Fair is mandatory for all 5th graders. Mrs. Elliott has decided 5th grade will do a Life Science topic.

Tuesday, March 3rd, we will have a Colonial Fair Parent Meeting after school at 3:00pm in the Monte Big Room. We will discuss the different stations and pass out the supply containers.

Tuesday, March 3rd, is the last day to turn in the In-N-Out and Good Stuff orders for Fun Run. Reminder: All food orders are PRE-ORDER only. You may not purchase In-N-Out or Good Stuff on the day of the Fun Run. See Fun Run Schedule below for more details.

Wednesday, March 4th, we have a one-day Book Fair in the MPR from 7:30 – 8:30am and 10:15-3:30pm. Parents and students may attend in the morning for Breakfast & Books. Students may attend during recess, lunch or after school. Raffle prizes are offered for bringing your own reusable bag.

Friday, March 6th, we will take our class picture. A Lifetouch order form ($11) is going home today.

 The following weeks:

Tuesday, March 24th, is the Soleado Science Fair from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. More details to follow regarding the Walk Thru the American Revolution (April 7th) and Colonial Fair (April 8th). The Costume Closet will not allow students to reserve costumes for these events in advance. I also understand that Spring Break will be the week before these events. Eva and I have both spoken with Peggy at the Costume Closet and she has provided us with the following days to rent our costumes: Saturday March 21st 10:30am - 1:30pm
 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, March 25,26,27 10:30am - 4:30pm
 Saturday, March 28th -
Tuesday, April 7th COSTUME CLOSET IS CLOSED!!
The costumes will be due back after school on April 8th or anytime April 9th. After the 9th a late fee will be charged. If someone absolutely can't get there until April 10th, they should call and let Peggy know. Thank you all for your continued support! We make an amazing team and the kids have lots of fun activities to look forward to.

Kind regards, Mrs. Ellis
